Yummy Core Classes are suitable from as soon as you have been signed off by the midwife or doctor (normally six weeks after a natural delivery or 12 weeks after having a caesarean section) and run as a six-week course. It is advisable that if you haven't exercised since having your little one you start with the Yummy Core. This will help you to build up your fitness and strength ensuring that your body is prepared for the more intense Yummy Circuits classes. At the end of your first six week course you will have the option to proceed to the Yummy Circuits Classes or join the next six week Yummy Core Course as many times as you wish.
These classes are 45/50minutes long and focus on restoring your core strength and pelvic floor muscles, helping you to re-engage with your body and allowing you to feel like you again. Lets face it, after nine months of change your body may sometimes feel a little out of control and completely alien to you.
Within the six week course each session is specially designed to gradually build up the deep core muscles, helping to stabilise your pelvic girdle and bring you back in tune with your body, in preparation for more intense exercise. You will be given set exercises to complete during the week to assist in your recovery and to help you get back to normal.
We aim to use different exercises each class, using a mixture of body weights and resistance bands, to prevent boredom and ensure that you progress.
All Yummy Core classes include:
- A Warm Up/Mobilisation
- Cardio Section
- Strength Section
- Core Section
- Cool Down
- Homework
At the end of each class there will be time to sit and have a chat with the other mums and babies.
Yummy Core Classes are kept to a maximum of six mums and included in the cost is a free resistance band to use both in class and at home.
